Hey, y'all! Phoenix Productions is proud to announce auditions for the Musical Theatre All-Stars Competition. Please make sure to read all the information below before submitting your audition:
Are you ready to compete against the best of the best musical theatre performers in Louisiana? Then this is the audition for you! Performers 18 and up will have a chance to perform their way to a champion title and prize money! Show us what you’ve got!
We are looking for 10-15 fierce musical theatre performers for this competition. Auditions are open to ages 18+. You may only audition if you are 18 and older and attend a Louisiana College or are a Louisiana resident. Verification will be needed before the committee makes their final selections.
How it Works:
The streamed event will include powerhouse performances from all of our contestants. Voting will open at the start of the streamed event. The winner will receive HALF of all funds raised during the event. Yes, you read that correctly... half. of. the. money. The winner will also name a theatrical organization of their choice to receive a portion of the remaining funds. There will also be a free online vote for Audience Favorite and they will recieve $100 and Phoenix Productions merchandise.
This event will take place VIRTUALLY. Your audition materials must be sent in no later than June 18th! Your audition will not be accepted if it does not meet the requirements listed below. If you have any questions, please email us at phoenixproductions@ticketor.com.
Audition Requirements:
SINGING - Auditioners must sing 30-45 seconds of two contrasting, non-jukebox musical theatre songs (a capella or with a backing track is fine). We are not looking for recording artists, so please choose your song wisely! Show off what makes you special: high belt, low notes, legit soprano, etc. Perform like you need to pay your rent!
AUDITION FORM - You will submit your audition video, headshot, and resume on the audition form. Please read the audition form carefully. If you are having trouble submitting through the form, please send us an email with the information requested on the form. If you do not have a h/s or resume, a selfie will do (just no filters on it please - we want to see you clearly!).
Filming Guidelines:
-Please slate at the top of your video (full name, age, city, college if applicable).
-Please film everything horizontally.
-You can film anywhere, just remember the less busy and more lit the better!

Those chosen to participate will receive confirmation no later than June 25th with further instructions.
Helpful Tips:
- No Hamilton, Wicked, Les Mis, or any Disney Channel Original that is not traditional musical theatre.
- Your audition cuts should reflect what songs you would like to perform should you be chosen; however, it's not a requirement.
- Attitude is everything! Your audition video should be fierce but warm and inviting.
- Gender? What's gender? Sing or act whatever piece you want - just sell it!
- Make sure the key is comfortable for you!
- While filming, make sure your face is lit and your background isn't too busy.
- You're submitting to compete with the best of the best and we believe in you!
