Illusion Productions is a Northampton based theatre company created in 2017 by Artistic Director, Gary Amos (That Face, The History Boys, Chatroom, The Pillowman).
Illusion Productions are proud to announce that our 3rd Production will be Irvine Welsh's 'Trainspotting', adapted by Harry Gibson, directed by Gary Amos, which will run from the 10th to the 13th November at The Playhouse Theatre, Northampton. 'Trainspotting', set in the late 1980s in Edinburgh, was published in 1993 as the first novel by Scottish author Irvine Welsh and has been a cultural phenomenon for almost 30 years thanks to the critical success of the book and most significantly the 1996 film adaptation directed by Danny Boyle. Its narrative follows seasoned junkie Mark Renton and his gang of heroin addicts, psychopaths, sexual deviants and all-round f*ckups and their descent into drug fuelled oblivion with some dark, twisted humour thrown in for good measure. It's been described as "fresh, funny, grim and glorious" and "horrible and hilarious" and is most definitely an extreme experience not to be missed.
18+ Viewing Restriction - Contains Strong Language, Violence, Nudity, Sex and Drug Abuse.
