Through a series of flashbacks and supernatural visions, we discover the relationship of Giacomo and his wife, Elvira, and her all-encompassing jealousy, the accusations of infidelity that eventually ended in excommunication and an innocent’s suicide.
Giacomo’s Muse explores themes of time, fidelity, passion, truth, honor, and what history can teach us if we are willing to learn, all within the construct of Douglas Macari’s exquisite and painfully beautiful poetry, and the etherial beauty of Philip Henderson’s music, written for chamber orchestra.
****BARN OPERA is thrilled to welcome the composer, librettist, and orchestrator from the UK to the BARN OPERA House for this World-Premiere production, and will be giving a brief talk-back after the performance each night
