Williamson County Parks & Recreation’s Musical Theatre Experience program offering for the spring of 2023 is James and the Giant Peach JR. This weekly program is offered in both Franklin and Nolensville (2 class opportunities). In this delightfully offbeat adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure, a boy and his insect friends take an amazing journey across the ocean. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of challenges along the way.
James and he Giant Peach JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
