Comfort and Joy is a show full of heartwarming holiday cheer in two one-acts: The Gift of the Magi & The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Gift of the Magi, set in early 20th-century New York, is O. Henry's endearing story of a young couple, Della and Jim, whose selfless acts of love illustrate the true spirit of the holiday season, reminding us of the joy that comes from giving. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, adapted for the stage by the novel’s author, Barbara Robinson, hilariously captures the misadventures of the trouble-making Herdman siblings, who unexpectedly take over a church’s Christmas pageant, leaving stunned churchgoers in their wake. But ultimately, their unconventional take on the nativity leads to touching moments that reframe the true meaning of Christmas.
