The musical 110 in the Shade is based on the 1954 play The Rainmaker. It focuses on Lizzie Currie who lives in a drought-stricken town in the American Southwest. This comedy shows the relationship between Lizzie, the local sheriff, and the charismatic con man, Bill Starbuck. Starbuck poses as a rainmaker and promises to bring rain to this desperate town all while improving the lives of those around him.
