Be transported to South America for a night!

Following our very successful Iberian wine and tapas evening.

Geoff Bolton our local wine expert returns for a tour of South American wines accompanied by the amazing food provided by Chef Lee from Cornerstone Catering.

Argentinian asado is more than just a meal—it’s a cultural ritual rooted deeply in the country’s gaucho (cowboy) traditions and social life. At its heart is a wood-fired grill or open flame, where an asador slow-cooks a variety of meats such as chorizo, morcilla, ribs, and cuts like entraña or bife de chorizo. The focus is on simplicity and flavour, letting the quality of the meat shine through with minimal seasoning—typically just salt. The process is unhurried and communal, meant to be savored with good company, conversation, and anticipation.

Wine plays an essential role in the asado experience. Argentina’s signature grape, Malbec, with its bold tannins and dark fruit profile, pairs beautifully with the richness of grilled beef. However, there are many more options to be discovered beyond the obvious. Please join Geoff and myself in travelling paths less well-troden. We look forward to seeing you there!

"South America is not all about Malbec! Through the evening we'll be enjoying six wines from Argentina and Chile, learning about their flavours and how they match the superb South American cuisine.

It'll be a fascinating and enjoyable two hours in great company." said Geoff Bolton
