Funniest Person in the Twin Cities
Each summer, hundreds of hilarious comedians-in-training, open mic dreamers, and drunken first-timers take the stage at Acme Comedy Co. in hopes of being named the Funniest Person in the Twin Cities. In addition to holding this prestigious title, the winner also receives a cool $1,000, and becomes known as a comedian on the rise in the Twin Cities. Past participants have included Acme headliners like Tim Harmston and Mary Mack, with plenty of other fresh comedians getting their first taste of the spotlight in the FPC. This year's contest kicked off in May with nearly 200 sign-ups, and was then narrowed down to a semifinal round of 25. This week, the five finalists will compete for the judges, followed by a set from headliner Bengt Washburn.
