Minneapolis native Ralph Lemon began his artistic trajectory as a dancer and choreographer. He performed with the Nancy Hauser Company, then co-founded Mixed Blood Theatre before heading east to New York. However, his involvement with the Twin Cities is ongoing. This weekend, he premieres his latest work, a multimedia extravaganza that integrates movement, theater, visual art, music, and text in an immersive installation. "Scaffold Room" focuses on three women, performing live and on video, who investigate memory, history, popular culture, and science-fiction. The setting? A two-story theater constructed inside the Walker Art Center's Burnet Gallery. Lemon will also present an ancillary work, called "Scaffold Room Refraction," which is an experiment in live music and performance. Public viewing of the installation and rehearsals is free with museum admission through Wednesday this week. "Scaffold Room Refraction" runs 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Ticketed performances are $22-$25. 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 8 p.m. Saturday; 7 p.m.
