Cellist Luis B. Castro, featured performer of Emerging Artist Series
Castro's musical journey began in his hometown of Caracas, Venezuela, and has taken him around the world. He refined his artistry under the guidance of acclaimed German cellist Wolfgang Boettcher. Castro was recognized as a Britten Pears Young Artist and he achieved third place in the Samnium International Competition. Castro has performed on the stages of the Sull'Acqua Music Festival with the famous cellist Pablo Ferrández. Joining him on stage will be violinist Samuel Vargas, an artist, teacher and entrepreneur; pianist Grace Betry, who has a love for music and collaboration; and flutist Betania Canas, who is also a recording artist and educator. This performance is presented in association with Friends of Good Music.
