ABOUT ELECTRASY

Electrasy are a Rock / Britpop / Indie band originally from the Southwest of England.

They are;

Ali Mckinnell / Lead Vocals

Nigel Nisbet / Guitar, Backing Vocals

Steve Atkins / Lead Guitar

Alex Meadows / Bass, Backing Vocals

Jim Hayden / Keyboards

Chris Page / Drums

Formed in 1994 in the South West of England, Electrasy achieved chart success with "Morning Afterglow" (Top 20 in 1998, US Top 50 Rock charts in 2000), “Lost In Space” (UK Top 50) and “Best Friend’s Girl” (UK Top 40), and released two major label albums, 1998's Beautiful Insane (MCA) (UK Album Chart Top 50) and 2000's In Here We Fall (Arista). The song "Cosmic Castaway", also from In Here We Fall, was featured on the soundtrack album of the 2000 animated film Titan A.E. and has become an underground cult classic, being streamed over 3 million times, and used for countless “game mash-up” videos on YouTube with millions of views.

Their song "Renegades" can also be heard in the final scene and credits of the 2001 Tim Burton film, Monkeybone.

During their career, Electrasy were dubbed by the NME as “the hardest working band in Britain”, playing over 180 shows in 1998 alone. Live performances included two spots on Channel 4’s TFI Friday, and performing the coveted sunset slot on the Other Stage at the Glastonbury Festival in 1999. Later, the band toured in the US with the bands “Fuel” and “Buckcherry”, and had support appearances with the “Fun Lovin’ Criminals” and “Paul Weller”.

The band released the album “Wired For Dreaming” in 2008, and in 2021 put out a collection of unreleased tracks and B-sides called “Givin It Back”, including the single “Marie Marie” which saw a renewed interest from the UK Britpop revival movement. In 2023, Electrasy returned to the live scene with some provincial shows followed by a gig at London’s 100 Club, where they had last appeared some 24 years ago.

New music followed, and in the summer of 2023 the band released three singles “A Million Pictures”, “Easing My Soul” and “I Tried” (featuring Julia Violinista), followed by a new album “To The Other Side” widely lauded by music pundits, as ‘album of the year’.

In July 2023 a new book, entitled ‘Calling All The Dreamers’ was released to chronicle the band's journey to date, and commemorate 25 years since their debut album. The book took the #1 spot in the Amazon chart in its first week. It has been followed up with a new album of unreleased versions of early recordings also titled 'Calling All The Dreamers.'

Electrasy are booking tour dates for the Summer of 2024.
