Premiere perfomance of 'Bowhead Whale' by playwright Isabel Hague in The Mulberry Playhouse.  Inspired by the eclectic cultural scene in Wakefield during the early 1980's. Bowhead Whale, celebrates the Punk movement with characters inspired by key historical figues from Wakefield. 

 

Funded by Historic England with support from Wakefield Council. This project is part of the Upper Westgate High Street Heritage Action Zone project, a four year project to breathe new life into the historic high street, yards and ginnels. This project is part of the Cultural Programme intended to explore Hidden Stories of Westgate Voices.

 

Co-Active Arts have been working with our sound designer and musican Shane Durrant over the last month on some of the recorded tracks that you will hear in the show tonight.
