Newfoundlanders & Maritimers alike come out of the woodwork when Shanneyganock comes to town, as they play their unique style of Celtic and Newfoundland Traditional Folk music. Their live shows are reminiscent of the kitchen parties held back home, where people break out in song, dance and sociables, while taking pride in the area’s traditional music. Newfoundland’s most famous band, Great Big Sea, has basically passed the torch over to Shanneyganock, continuing in the tradition of music ambassadors from that region. They continue to sell out shows and set drink sales records wherever they play, and out west, Newfoundlanders are reminded of home, family and their community pride at these shows.
