In honor of World Refugee Day on June 20! Partial proceeds benefit the Refugee & Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC), which provides services such as refugee resettlement, asylee case management, counseling, outreach, and education to immigrants and refugees in Greater Boston.
A widower and his two young children flee their war-torn African country for France, where he falls in love with a French woman (Sandrine Bonnaire) who offers shelter for him and his family, until immigration officials come knocking. Shown with the world premiere of Beyond the Borders, a music video by Belmont resident and Boston immigration attorney Susan Cohen, about a Syrian family caught in the crosshairs of the Syrian refugee crisis.
Speaker: Fred Mbuga, a refugee from Uganda who is currently lead case manger at RIAC and a first year law student at Massachusetts School of Law.
