Burr and Burton Academy’s Performing Arts Department is proud to present Radium Girls, a compelling drama set in Orange, NJ during the 1920’s.  Radium Girls sheds light on the courageous efforts of female factory workers in the early 20th century who fought against the corporations that endangered their lives by exposing them to toxic radium.  Radium was originally marketed as a miracle cure that could not only cure cancer, but was a popular additive to everyday products due to it’s supposed health benefits.  This gripping play explores themes of corporate greed, worker safety, and the quest for justice.   Watch as you see our heroine Grace Fryer challenge members of the U.S Radium Corporation, her friends and even her family on their views on humanity, doing what is right, and accepting responsibility as she fights a herculean struggle in the press and in the courtroom.
